This poster was created by Luis, one of the youth in our 2014-2015 cohort, to raise awareness of the adverse effects of domestic violence on children. He used his own experiences as a victim of physical abuse and witnessing domestic violence to formulate a powerful message for parents. The poster was displayed in public areas including Hartford Hospital and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
Here is an article written for Foster Focus magazine in 2015 about our trip to the Channel Islands National Park and that year’s accomplishments. Open the pdf here.
Here is a blog piece written for the Connecticut Department of Children and Families. Open the pdf here.
Here is an audiovisual piece created by Chris, a 14-year-old youth from our 2015-2016 cohort. Chris had a significant history of witnessing and experiencing violence in his home. There are many important messages in this piece that Chris developed for other youth at-risk for or impacted by violence. It is worth a listen.
